About me
Hi Diana and everyone else out there.
I just joined your site yesterday. I am 45 and a teacher in East Sussex. I teach 25 children aged 7-8 years who come from a particularly deprived area, but I love the job. The kids are great and I'm really pleased that I chose this career. This is only my second year of teaching. I had to go back to college and then do a 4 year degree to get where I am. Yes we do have long holidays, but I do work long hours planning and marking during most of my evenings and weekends, so I take the holidays as pay back! On a normal working day I spend 1 1/2 hours driving as my work place is about 20 miles away from home. That is probably the only down side of my job.
I live with my lovely new partner Mike who I have been with for just over 2 years now. I have a daughter who is 15 and a son of 21 and I am very proud of them both. I was married previously for just over 20 years but had to make the decision as to whether I wanted to carry on studying or give it up and go back to my part time work and keep hubby happy. So I picked!
At work they call me 'The Mad Woman' because I am 'Weird but in a nice cool way' (as one kid told me last year). I specialise in ICT (computers and technology) although I teach all subjects so I do a lot of running around sorting out people's computer problems. I smile alot and have a dirty laugh.
and I have a very very open mind on life and people in general.
I've just realised this is really boring and far from being a 'chat' is more like an essay ......like what I ad to write at uni!
Hope to get chatting with you all soon.

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi Sharon nice to see you posting
I can imagine you having most of your evenings taken up with markings all the time.. the school holidays are deserved
I can sympathise with you about running about fixing pc's, its what I do most weekend, for friends or help people online.. Im not professional at it but know quite a bit and still learning myself each day too...
Computers it what I love best in my spare time
