our camp weekend for those interested

From Friday evening to Sunday afternoon we went on family camp with Leons cubs, there were families from beavers, cubs, scouts, explorers and leaders and also some day visitors totalling over 150, we camped at a fantastic country park in cheshire called Tatton park which has wonderful wildlife there, there is always a theme for the camp the first year was the wild west and the last one was circus and this time it was pirates, we all had to take costumes and make a flag for our tent.

Tony had most of the car packed when I got home on Friday and had collected the kids so we had tea and then left, didn’t take long to get there and we set the tent up etc while Orion napped in the car, had a game of rounders and meeting then headed off to bed, Orion was very impressed with his Thomas ready bed and he and pirate teddy slept well ! ha ha

Saturday was busy, we cooked breakfast and then I was on crafts in the morning and Tony took the boys sailing, shooting, on the bouncy castle and to archery and they did the treasure hunt, then we went and cooked lunch and in the afternoon Tony and Leon went canoeing (Orion fell asleep) we built my tepee for my guiders badge and Leon went on the slippery pole (gladiators style thing) and then I did archery and Tony did branding (he made a lovely wooden plaque for jerichos garden) Orion then woke up and we did dough twists and toasted marshmallows (which ended up in orions hair !) then went and got changed in our pirate costumes, we then had a bbq and campfire and Leon and I did old mcdonalds pirate ship (another part of my guiders badge !) Tony won the fancy dress prize ! then we went to bed ! we were all tired and flat out by 11 pm !

Sunday morning we cooked breakfast and started to pack away, they ran a wide game for the kids so we got it all done quickly, then they had flag break and we came home. Had a great time, both kids slept all the way back !!

The next one will be in 2 years time when Leon will be a scout and Orion almost a beaver !!

adorable ....I used to LOVE tatton park when I was a kid, I've been loads!

thanks elisa and emma, yes it is such a beautiful park we haven't been for years which is a shame with it being so close to us so we'll definately change that and go more often i think
